23 classic John Lennon songs on 2 cds
Continuing Amnesty's long tradition of activism powered by music, today Warner Bros. Records and Amnesty International release "Instant Karma: the Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur." More than 50 international recording artists and over 30 record labels have come together to realize this project which features iconic songs by the incomparable musician and fighter for peace and justice, John Lennon, recorded by some of the greatest musicians of our time. Yoko Ono’s generous gift of Lennon’s solo catalogue will be the centerpiece of our efforts to rally activists round the world in the fight to save the lives and protect the rights of the people of Darfur.

The two-CD set boasts a stellar line-up of 23 world-class artists from a variety of genres putting their own unique spin on classic songs from Lennon’s solo songbook. The artists include longtime activists U2, Green Day, R.E.M., and Jackson Browne; female pop powerhouses Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, and Corinne Bailey Rae; country stars Big & Rich ; alternative favorites Snow Patrol, The Flaming Lips, Postal Service and Regina Spektor; best-selling rockers Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz and Los Lonely Boys; and pensive singer-songwriters Jakob Dylan with Dhani Harrison and Ben Harper.
